The Consumer Rights Act 2015 became law on 01 October 2015, replacing three major pieces of consumer legislation – the Sale of Goods Act, Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, and the Supply of Goods and Services Act. These terms and conditions provide mutual protection for A1 Vehicle Tuning and its clients.
Scope of Work
A1 Vehicle Tuning shall provide the Services and Deliverable(s) requested by the client from the following options; all of which are bound by our ’Customer Care & Commitment’ to service quality.
We confirm our commitment to ensure all clients are happy with the customer service we provide to them and our specialist technical services for their vehicles.
We at A1 Vehicle tuning ltd offer full ECU (engine control unit) remapping / tuning service and custom tuned software & engineering for various makes and models of vehicle.
We strive to provide a high level of service and customer satisfaction in all cases.
We only use genuine top of the range ECU reprogramming tools to ensure the highest level of
reliability and service.
A full diagnostic check of all vehicles is carried out prior to and after any ECU remap or reprogramming
service is carried out by us. All vehicles may be driven on the road for testing and/or data logging purposes.
We refuse the right to carry out any tuning work or diagnostics if the vehicle is in anyway unfit to carry out the work the customer has asked us to carry out, remapping / tuning will not fix existing issues your car is suffering with and will not be carried out by the vehicle tuner to mask any underlining issues your vehicle may be suffering from.
We work alongside external ‘remap writers’ and the liability for any mistake in the remap software lies with them and not A1 Vehicle tuning,
We will however initiate and manage contact with third-party remap writers and mediate if necessary to help you come to a resolution for the repairs from start to finish.
We may choose to cover the cost of repairs ourselves and then claim back the costs from the remap writer but this will be done at our discretion and is not guaranteed.
General faults and damage caused to your vehicle as a result of poor maintenance, weak/faulty parts are not covered by this indemnity. If your vehicle breaks-down after the remap is installed – and as a proven result of this – we and the remap writer will not accept any legal responsibility for this. This would come down to maintenance of the vehicle which the owner is wholly responsible for.
We do not cover the liability for the following parts: turbos, injectors, clutches, gearboxes, dpf, boost leaks (boost pipes) as these have a serviceable lifetime and the remap places bigger demands on these parts, which may cause issues if they are not in good health. Stage 1+, Stage 2, Stage 3 remaps are beyond the recommended tolerances of your engine and we and the remap writer will not accept any liability for these remaps.
Engine Control Unit (ECU) - While carrying out remapping / tuning and reprogramming of the vehicle ECU, we take
full responsibility for the engine control unit and its operation. In the unlikely case that any issue arises
during the flash programming process of the ECU, then we will strive to carry out recovery, repair or
replacement of the ECU as required.
For customers provided with our custom written tuning files and carry
out ECU flash programming themselves, we provide no responsibility for any ECU faults that may occur. We
will however always strive to provide any support we can.
Other Mechanical / Electrical faults
We do not accept liability for any other vehicle mechanical or electrical
failure or faults prior or after the remapped ECU software has been installed.
We will also not be held liable
for any emission control bypass software used on the public highway - these vehicles must continue to
comply to UK / Euro emissions standards and meet MOT requirements as required by law.it is also the customers responsabity to inform us of any known faults the vehicle is suffering from before any work is carried out and to also let us know about any modifications
the vehicle has had especially to the vehicle electrical systems, ie vehicle dashboard, engine sensors being removed or tampered with,
canbus filters / mileage blockers etc as this can result is damage to the vehicles ECU plus other electrical modules and we at A1 vehicle tuning will not be held liable for.
Engine / Vehicle Health
It is the customers responsibility to ensure the vehicle and engine is in good health
when provided to us for remapping. We reserve the right to refuse to provide our remap service if any
suspect issues are identified with the vehicle following our own initial diagnostic and health check. We will
offer full advice regarding any issues identified where required.
Vehicle Warranty – It is the customers responsibility to ensure their vehicle warranty is not affected by the
installation of custom ECU software.
Return to Stock – In all cases possible, we will carry out full backup of the vehicle ECU software that was
previously running on the vehicle as provided to us. This will allow the customer to return to their previous
ECU software if ever required. Charges may apply.
